Note: Since this welcome video was made, we have moved locations to accommodate ministry growth and development. While this video may still help you get to know us, the best way is to stop by for a visit!
Visiting a church can be challenging. Where do I go? What time does everything begin? What's available for my children?
We want your visit to Bethel to be refreshing and beneficial for you and your entire family. Experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you will feel welcome and "at home."
Here are the answers to a few questions you may have. If we missed one, please contact the church office and we'll help you any way we can.
Where should I park?
Our parking lot is located behind the building. We have special parking for first time guests to make your visit as seamless as possible!
What should I wear?
If you are like most people, you will want to know what to wear. We love people and we want everyone to feel welcome. You will see people dress in a variety of ways. Some dress casually, others in business casual attire, and still others may dress in more business-like attire. No matter how you dress, we think you’ll find our church to be friendly, inviting, and comfortable.
What about my children?
We have a clean, safe, well-supervised nursery ministry for those who would like to take advantage of it. We also have age-appropriate classes for older children. You can click here to learn more about our children’s ministries.
What happens when I arrive?
If you arrive in time for Adult Bible Studies/Sunday School, everyone gathers in the auditorium for an opening song before being dismissed to separate classes. Someone will be available to direct you to the correct class.
When you arrive for the main service, our greeters will give you a welcome packet with information about the church. If somehow you miss getting this, please ask for one!
The center of our worship service is the expository preaching of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is our authority and guide for life, and we take it very seriously. We center on God's truth in Sunday messages, in small group studies, in men’s and women’s studies, in teen meetings, and in children’s meetings. We memorize it and prioritize it.
We focus our worship on God. Each week we organize our worship service to meditate on a characteristic or attribute of God that is revealed in the message that will be preached. Faith, obedience, and joy flow from a confidence in the God we serve. We gain confidence in Him by learning about Him and in being constantly reminded about how wonderful our God is.
Bethel Baptist Church seeks to honor the Lord through doctrinally accurate, reverent music. We believe that the Lord should be the focus of our worship rather than the entertainment of people. We trust that our music accurately reflects God's character. Our service combines older hymns, modern hymns, and newer songs with clear, practical preaching and teaching from the Bible. We have a deep appreciation for the beautiful and theologically rich songs that Christians have sung for generations. We love this music and we sing it with enthusiasm. We try to focus our worship on the music that is timeless, rather than that which is associated with the fads of the moment. We use a piano for accompaniment, and sometimes have other instruments such as the trumpet, guitar, or trombone.
In our services, Pastor Jim Ghanayem preaches and teaches directly from the Bible. Bibles are provided in our pews for anyone who does not have one to bring.
As a church, we recognize that there are several accurate translations of the Scriptures. We respect each person's freedom in choosing a Bible translation for personal and family use. The basis for our fellowship and unity is not a particular translation of the Bible, but the eternally enduring Word of God.
Before you leave, please do not hesitate to say hello to the pastor. He loves to greet people, especially those who are new to our congregation. Do not be afraid to ask any questions you want about the church. We are so thrilled with what God is doing here, and we love to tell people about it!
How can I learn more about Bethel?
During the Sunday School hour, we have a church orientation class led by Pastor Jim. We’d encourage you to come participate in this class!
